About the Museum
Pioneering Environmental Education
Positioned near Lake Kivu in Rwanda's Western Province, the Museum of the Environment is a bold and pioneering institution passionately dedicated to championing environmental awareness. It holds the distinction of being the first institution of its remarkable kind anywhere on the African continent.
The facility spans two floors plus a rooftop garden containing traditional medicinal plants. Through interactive exhibits and educational displays, it explores renewable and non-renewable energy sources while empowering visitors to protect their natural surroundings.
